鸡缸杯创烧于明成化年间，为酒器中之珍品。据传，鸡缸杯之所以受宠于成化皇帝。一是：成化元年是鸡年；二是：鸡与“吉”谐音。史载，成化皇帝热衷书画，一次欣赏宋人佳作《子母鸡图》，看到母鸡呵护小鸡的温馨之情，深有感触，萌发制作成化鸡缸杯的心愿。此杯为定制烧造，杯外壁饰子母鸡两群，间以湖石、月季与幽兰，一派初春景象。足底边一周无釉。底心青花双框内楷书“大明成化年制”双行六字款，存世极少。早在明万历年间就有“神宗时尚食，御前有成化斗彩鸡缸杯一双，值十万！”可见此器价值连城。此鸡缸杯与2014年4月苏富比香港春拍中的明成化斗彩鸡缸杯相比，特殊之处在于：彼杯的雄鸡尾为双勾线平涂黑色，而此杯的雄鸡尾为双勾线平涂灰色。为历届拍卖首见！Chicken jar cup was created in Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty.
