八思巴文属于音阶文字，单字没有实际含义，需根据语音组合起来读，相当于国际音标，是八思巴法王为蒙古人创造的蒙古文字，创建的目的是为元朝皇家贵族使用，一般人根本不能接触到。由于使用范围小有人虽然能读出所有的字母，但不能了解其真实的含义，能够理解巴斯巴文的人，必然是蒙古的高级统治者，它最大的用处就在于传达密令，可以说八思巴文是蒙古人的密码，在一定程度上推进了蒙古社会的文明进程。品相完好，铸字清晰，书法秀美庄重，包浆自然，老旧痕迹明显，其背部厚薄不均呈现凹形，采用银锭铸造工艺成型，甚是稀有。八思巴文的通宝多用于供奉神佛，以提高佛光灵气的皇家专用布施品，传说可避邪恶，后人以此作护身符用，这样一枚奇珍钱币，具有宗教、收藏、艺术、文物等多学科的收藏和研究价值，存世量稀少，值得收藏。
