Description

This set of porcelain plate paintings consists of four pieces and was created in 1950. The porcelain plate has a pure white glaze and a warm glaze, which is baked with gauze. The blue and white painting is used to explore the hand Arhat, the bowl raising Arhat, the happy Arhat, and the dragon subduing Arhat. The blue and white hair color is low and restrained. The character's clothing pattern is expressed using the method of dividing blue and white into water, with contours outlined by lines. The expression and facial features are delicately portrayed, with only a few strokes of joy, anger, sorrow, and joy, gracefully appearing on the porcelain. Although the composition is sparse and clear, it gives the characters a strong sense of three dimensionality, truly deserving of the visual enjoyment brought by the "blue and white king". Introduction: Wang Bu, with the courtesy name Renyuan and the nickname Zhuxi, was later known as Tao Qinglao. He was from Zhuxi Village in Changhu, Fengcheng County, Jiangxi Province, and his studio was "willing to hear my passing through the Zhai". His father Wang Xiuchun was a skilled blue and white artist during the Tongzhi and Guangxu periods. At the age of 9, Wang Bu went to Jingdezhen to study blue and white porcelain. He studied under the guidance of veteran artist Xu Yousheng, and later imitated Qing Dynasty official kiln blue and white porcelain under Wu Aisheng's tutelage. Title: Green reflects the Zen heart.
