Description
During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, porcelain craftsmen from Jingdezhen imported the shape of pots and created two types of holding pots: Firstly, the belly has slightly raised melon edges, painted with light, and the shoulder neck connection is raised in a diamond shape, which is closer to its metal prototype; Secondly, the abdomen has no melon edges and is not exposed to light. The connection between the shoulders and neck has a circular protrusion, which is even rarer in this product. The shape of Yongle blue and white vessels was mostly influenced by Islamic metal vessels, which later extended to the Xuande dynasty with only slight adjustments in proportion and details. The shape of this product should have originated from the early Persian prototype.
