Description

The Mexican Eagle Ocean refers to the new coinage used after Mexico's independence in 1821, which began to be minted in 1823. The two have the same specifications: a diameter of 39 millimeters, a weight of 27.07 grams, and a fineness of 95.30%. The Eagle Ocean can be broadly divided into two types: the Lace Eagle Ocean before 1897 and the Straight Edge Eagle Ocean after 1898. The two have the same specifications: a diameter of 39 millimeters, a weight of 27.07 grams, and a fineness of 95.30%. The face value of lace eagle ocean is 8 Real, and the face value of straight edge eagle ocean is 1 Peso. On the front of the silver dollar is a winged eagle, with a long snake in its beak (the lace eagle snake tail is connected to the eagle wing, and the straight edge eagle snake tail is not connected to the eagle wing). It stands on one leg on a cactus (the national flower), with the Spanish word "REPUBLIKAMEXIKANA (Republic of Mexico)" written above the edge. In the center of the back is a free soft hat, with the Spanish word "LIBERTAD" written on the brim of the hat. The length of the light pillars radiating around the hat varies (the number of light pillars in the lace eagle ocean and the straight edge eagle ocean is also different. The middle of the three light pillars on the top of the lace eagle ocean free hat is shorter, while the middle one is longer. The pattern symbolizes strength, loyalty, peace, and freedom.
