Description

The Qing Dynasty copper coin, also known as the Qing Dynasty mechanism copper round, has four Chinese characters "Qing Dynasty copper coin" in the center of its face, with a small character embedded to represent the place name. The upper end is the Manchu character "Qing Dynasty copper coin", and the two sides are the year. In the middle of the edge, there are two Chinese characters for "household department", and at the bottom, there are "ten characters for making money". The center of the back of the coin is a coiled dragon, with the upper end bearing the inscription "Made in the year of Guangxu (or Xuantong)" and the lower end bearing the English inscription "Tai Ching Ti Kuo Copper Coin" (Qing Dynasty copper coin). The casting is relatively uniform in different regions. Casting began in 1900 (the 26th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty) and ended in 1911 (the 3rd year of the Xuantong reign), with a relatively short circulation time. Due to its elegant layout design, exquisite carving, and extremely rare surviving quantity, the Ten Treasures of the Ministry of Revenue in the Guangxu year of the Qing Dynasty copper coin were praised as one of the top ten honors in modern Chinese coin making. The layout of the copper coins in the Qing Dynasty was diverse, with the top ten being the most prominent. During the reign of multiple Qing emperors, copper coins were issued as circulating currency, and their use has important practical and historical significance, gradually facilitating transactions. Nowadays, the Qing Dynasty copper coins also have certain collectible value, and many collectors are fond of them, and collecting a variety of copper coins has become their goal.
