Description

Famous Chinese painter, calligrapher, and seal engraver during the late Qing and Republican periods in China. He served as the first president of the Xiling Seal Engraving Society in Hangzhou and was known as one of the "Four Masters of the Shanghai School in the Late Qing Dynasty" along with Ren Bonian, Pu Hua, and Xu Gu. It combines poetry, calligraphy, painting, and seal printing, blending gold, stone, calligraphy, and painting into a furnace, and is known as the "first person in stone drum seal script".
