Description

Among the four works mentioned above by Guichou in the 32nd year of the Jiajing reign, only one is a private collection, which is Chen Gua's "Flower Painting" volume. This scroll is 32.4 centimeters high and 367 centimeters long. It is printed in ink and paper, depicting ten types of peonies, apricot blossoms, crabapple, lotus, crape myrtle, hibiscus, chrysanthemum, plum blossom, narcissus, and camellia, arranged in chronological order according to the four seasons. They are all broken branches, leaning and falling, with flowers singing and leaves dancing, with a smile in the wind, and a state of longing for love.
