Description
The face of the Infinite Life Buddha is square and full, with a solemn expression. Wearing a five leaf crown and long hair draped over the shoulders. She is topless, draped with a robe and silk on her shoulders, adorned with necklaces and bracelets. Waist tied long skirt with undulating pleats, natural and smooth. Make meditation seals with both hands and sit fully folded. The lower part of the lotus seat is engraved with the inscription "Da Ming Xuan De Nian Shi" on the upper part, and the font is beautiful. This sitting statue of the Infinite Longevity Buddha inherits the style of the Yongle statue, with intricate and gorgeous decorations, exquisite craftsmanship, and symmetrical body proportions, fully reflecting the characteristics of palace statues during the Xuande period. This Buddha statue originated from an Irish collection and was auctioned at Sotheby's in New York on March 25, 1999, with item 121.
