The Three Faced and Eight Armed Samantabhadra, made during the 36th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, is 50cm tall and 38cm wide. It is a three sided and eight armed Samantabhadra, transformed from the Supreme Summit of Shakyamuni Buddha. It is a combination of Samantabhadra Buddha, Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, and Vajrayana Bodhisattva, embodying unparalleled wisdom, compassion, and surrender. It is a perfect and esteemed Samantabhadra. This Buddha statue is made of copper gilded gold, with a smooth surface and finely carved patterns. It is adorned with a network of gemstones and is magnificent in the summer. It is robust and round, smooth and full, with a compassionate expression. It is the most beloved guardian deity in the world. Emperor Qianlong appointed Empress Dowager Chongqing, who was 80 years old, as an imperial official and specially stored in the Bodhisattva Chuzong Temple for the Empress Dowager's use. It is a collection for royal use.
