冯超然是近代“三吴一冯”画派核心人物，山水画源自“四王”、文征明，上溯董源、巨然，情致温婉且自出机杼。晚年专攻山水，兼具传统功力与个性表达，此作名称中“秋江”“渔篴”提示题材为秋日江景与渔樵隐逸，符合其常表现的文人生活意趣。Feng Chaoran is a core figure of the modern "Three Wu and One Feng" painting school. Landscape painting originated from the "Four Kings" and Wen Zhengming, tracing back to Dong Yuan and Ju Ran, with gentle and unique emotions. In his later years, he specialized in mountains and waters, combining traditional skills with personal expression. The titles "Autumn River" and "Fishing Fish" in this work suggest the theme of autumn river scenery and the seclusion of fishing and woodcutting, which is in line with his usual expression of literati life interests.
